If you need Maya to work seamlessly on Linux, you should use the distro recommended by Autodesk (e.g RHEL/CentOS/Rocky for Maya 2023). However, it's possible to install Maya on other distros by applying various hacks which we discuss here.
Maya 2024 on Fedora 39
Install dependencies:
sudo dnf install libnsl sudo dnf install libpng15 sudo dnf install libGLU sudo dnf install mesa-libGLw sudo dnf install mesa-libGLw
Install CUDA (if using proprietary NVIDIA drivers):
sudo dnf install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda
Run with:
maya --single-process
Disable splash screen, then run normally.
