For the Z-location I used the numeric puzzle set to 1 meter (easy for test). But it shows the object in AR at 1.30m (measued).
I am not quite sure how AR knows how to setup the height. It detects the wall ok, but since it only detects one surface, it seems the ground is not detected (or is it?). And without a ground detection the specific height is not to setup. What do you think happens in this situation?
visionCustomerWith light I mean the light needed for the app to place object against wall. The object itself is perfectly visible.
Or does material with emission actually help the ap scanning the room/wall?visionCustomerA great, I will try and use the AR hit point Z option for the specific height.
The one thing that seems no going round is that AR needs a lot of ambient light to work. For indoors, next to a window it sometimes not even enough light. Its a pitty, because AR is a wonderfull technology.
Do you also exprience this?visionCustomerA great, it works!
Never new it worked on walls too out of the box, I expected heavy tinkering. If I may ask you another thing: do you know what controls the height (Z-location) of the object in AR?
I am trying to hang a painting in AR on the wall, so it needs to be at a specific height (Z-location), pre-setup.
I tried changing the origin of the object to the floor below the object. But this is not working. Maybe I need a floor scan as well, so a 2 surface detection setup.Any idea’s?
visionCustomerok, but the default puzzle is set to floor setup/lock. Its all generic: “set AR hit point to XYZ”.
Where is the specific change for wall setup? That item I still don’t understand.visionCustomeralso, where is the ground-4-arrow- thingy in the left screenshot? I like to learn this wall setup basics. So any more info is more than welcome.
visionCustomerthank you for the example
Do you mind sharing the puzzle setup screenshot as well? That is the info/setup I am searching for.visionCustomerHi kvd, are you familair with AR, do you know how to setup wall-detection? …
It seems I don’t get an answer from the soft8soft guys on the topic below
visionCustomerHi Soft8Soft people, May I ask for an answer on this subject. I am really stuck at this point…
visionCustomerWhat would really help is an example AR-app of an object mirror/painting sticking against the wall at a certain height in AR mode. Can Verge3D make this and publish ?
visionCustomerI am continuing this project…
My first goal is to make the mirror stick to the wall-surface instead of the floor-surface.How is the AR hit puzzle setup so it uses the wall as stick-to item? The puzzle in default (examples) is set point to (AR-hit-point xyz) which looks quite general, so I would not know how to begin change it from floor to the wall.
Can you help?
visionCustomerBut the farmers app is working with Sound in AR mode on iphone. When you click on the farmer, the sound (farmer saying hello) is being played.
So could you tell me why is the sound working in this?

visionCustomerThe mesh is exported and visible, working fine.
It’s the sound (mp3) that is not playing. Mp3 is working fine on iphone in app in object mode.
But switching to ar-mode, the sound is not playing. So it is only not working on iphone in ar mode, strange…I am using the farmer puzzle as basis, which also has a sound playing, it should work.

2023-03-28 at 9:34 pm in reply to: AR app dark materials stay dark no matter how much light, specular.. #61470visionCustomerI see, and if I understand correct, the post proces in this case constitutes lights, emission, sun?
So only the HDRi is a light source in AR-mode?Also, will there be more info on AR comming in the near future?
I find that it is a little less documented mode.visionCustomerTested with diff map to emission, but no effect.
I changed a few other things. I removed the roughness map node, and set the specular to full (1). Then is works. It seems the roughness map (which is correct in sneak preview) is not helping in AR-mode.
Now the leather surface is visible, also with leather structure. Be it that this structure is still al little too vage compared to the sneak preview.
