2020-07-03 at 1:37 pm in reply to: VR version of my Vehicle Fantasy, timer and IBL lighting issues #29625dssctrCustomer
hi Simone,
I have an HTC vive with controllers, in which you basically aim a laser pointer(ray) from your hand controller over your buttons/text.
Experience issues: Yes, the timing is almost immediate with your text hover and they quickly change the background. Then a couple seconds later change to another third background. So I agree something may be off with the SetTimer. I made my own vr project and found that clicking the buttons(objects) to be most effective trigger for me. Like your door for example in order to Enter.
What I like: 1)I love your entrance transition, and the inside of the vehicle. 2) It looked great in VR. 3)Lovely backgrounds. 4)great modeling and animations.
My(selfish)wishlist: I love it, but want it to fly like the Santa sleigh example, or better yet a choosable destination from the cockpit controls. I’ve done similar tests, and If you parent your ship to the camera, you can just animate your camera/ship around with the tween camera puzzle. I know you don’t have an Oculus ( that would be my first choice) so testing all this must be a pain. Good luck
regards, Rick
dssctrCustomerNice!

2020-05-03 at 11:48 pm in reply to: Best practices to create 360 tours with Verge 3D and Blender #27129dssctrCustomerHi, It is possible to do this. However, I am not aware of a tutorial for verge 3d. However, Wil Welker made a great tutorial on the procedure, but he is doing so in the older product Blend4web, and Blender 2.79. I’ve done this in V3d with one image pulled from my iPhone streetview app that I made a couple of years ago. good luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STYq5qQ2w2ESorry I just realized you want to change out the skybox image only. You could easily just jump from URL to URL. As for VR you only need one texture for WebXR it splits automatically in VR(if you trigger it by clicking something to turn on VR). The procedure doesn’t seem to work in Chrome yet, but it does in Firefox.
dssctrCustomerdssctrCustomerHi Mikhail, You were right, somehow there was an initial keyframe set on the master append file. I just discovered it. Good call and sorry to scare you guys….
sincerely, Rick
dssctrCustomerUPDATE: Ok it seems to be corrupt material files ( I guess ) after rebuilding material nodes. I should point out that enabling line rendering helped me determine if there actually was a mesh or not.
Thanks guys for that nice feature! I think I will just stick to 2.16 for now.

Well that was quick. You’ve apparently fixed the problem before I ever had it.
dssctrCustomerWonderful Thanks!
dssctrCustomerThanks!

Another tip I found that works with mobile textures is to convert any Blender PNGs to JPG. I converted a 4k 10MB Png texture to 451Kb jpg at 50% quality with minimal visual loss in Photoshop. This, in turn, freed up a whole lot of memory for mobile so that it ran much smoother. -RickdssctrCustomerThank you Simone! I will try this.
dssctrCustomerThank you Yuri, I was wondering about those Html event puzzles. I would love to see some examples of this if anyone wants to share. :)
2019-10-14 at 2:17 pm in reply to: Fantasy Vehicle working in iOS only if shadows are disabled #20267dssctrCustomerHi Simone,
I had a similar issue when I accidentally duplicated my lights to six. When I realized what i had done, I removed a single source and sneak peaked each time. At a fewer number of lights(like 3 or 4) everything worked fine. Try removing a non-essential light (if you have any)and see if this helps. If I recall, it had a greater impact than even the removal of my HDR lighting.Hope this helps,
RickdssctrCustomerWOW!
