PottsieParticipant
Sure! I made another file.
To reiterate, this material was appended from Blenderkit. You’ll see that when you perform a sneak peak preview, the scaling is a bit off.
Not a huge issue. Just curious how I can circumvent it in the future.
** The external files were packed, however, the issue should still persist even with a new image texture.
Thanks!

PottsieParticipantOk, I think I understand now.
I was focusing more on high poly to low poly workflow – so obtaining a normal map from dense geometry and “decals”.
Yes, if I’m texturing in Substance (or Quixel), I can see how it makes sense to just save out in PNG format.
Thank you for your help!

PottsieParticipantThanks for your reply, Mikhail!
This method have no effect on optimization
I guess I’m misunderstanding the term “optimization” in this context then. So a smaller file size won’t help Verge3D at runtime?

PottsieParticipantAhhh ok, I understand what you’re trying to do now.
I had to struggle with this but now I’m clear! Good learning experience. Thanks as always!

PottsieParticipantElk – this is all great information, thank you!
Ok, I think I’m getting closer to understand these concepts.
My main hangup now is when to use an environment map vs. an equirectangular map that is projected onto a sphere, for instance. Let’s just say for the case of an archviz application.
In your Environment Map Size thread, you mentioned having a “pre rendered” equirectangular map, for performance reasons on mobile. So is an environment map not pre rendered? Or am I not understanding another principle?
Again, thank you for your insight. Always so helpful!

PottsieParticipantNow that I think about it, it may only be possible with the use of a modifier.
Is it correct that transform modifiers have to be applied first before exporting to glTF?

PottsieParticipanthi!
Regarding the bone transformation and image aspect ratio – would this work for cylindrical forms/geometry?
Thanks!

PottsieParticipantVery cool setup! I’m curious how you went about constructing your sky dome?

PottsieParticipantFound it. I had to uncheck the Verge3D shadow option for the light source.

PottsieParticipantAhhh, I see what I did. Newbie error.

PottsieParticipantElk, always looking out for me :) Thank you.
I did actually try with the extension as well. Could the issue be the fact that I’m using a HTML UI? I would think there shouldn’t be a difference, having clickable HTML vs objects?

PottsieParticipantHappy Birthday Yuri, from Cleveland, Ohio!
I appreciate all that you do. The fact that you take as much time as you (and your team) do to address forum questions, in addition to building Verge3D, is simply awesome. I wouldn’t expect such a level of involvement from busy individuals such as yourselves, so it says a lot about Soft8soft.
Once I get passed some programming obstacles, I plan on purchasing a license very soon!

PottsieParticipantThanks! It all makes sense now :)

PottsieParticipantGotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I failed to ask initially, how about as far as the context of which you are using it in your archivz demo, with regards to approaching an edge? I wasn’t sure what you meant with “falling down”.
Sorry for all the questions, but THANK YOU for all your help thus far!And thanks for the compliment! I hope to get back into it and upload more. Been a bit distracted lately.:)
