Also I’ve just tested, it seems that the best setup for the flame in 4.2 is this
It may be not *exactly* same as in Blender, but very close

Pavel KotovStaffHey! Looking into these questions as well. To understand fully, could you share your whole idea – what will be the flame used for? Some kind of weapon/flamethrower? Which features are lacking from the current setup in the tutorial?

Pavel KotovStaffSo here is an answer to the question about emission color:
(may take some time to process the vid)
It looks a bit different in new Blender, but if we follow all the steps from tutorial, it will still work just the same!- This reply was modified 2 months, 2 weeks ago by Pavel Kotov.

Pavel KotovStaffHey,
I will also look into it! An interesting issue indeed, maybe we can make it work with via the “Smoke particles” way!Especially now it will be easier as now we can copy Puzzles from one project to another

Also I forgot to mention the cascade shadows – you can set the blur between cascades (and much more) in Verge3D segment under Sun settings!

Pavel KotovStaffHey that is awesome! I will look into it, I think I have some quick tips about making the look a bit more realistic using Blender shaders. Later today will post the vid!
I’m not a programmer though, so I can’t look into the the coding part sadly.
Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing!

Pavel KotovStaffHey!
You mean the flame effect from this tutorial on the torches?
It is mostly Blender Shader setup, but I think it is possible to improve it using the particles and some other tricks. Thanks for suggestion, if I find some ways to improve it, there is a good possibility of a tutorial about flame effect soon :)

I can share the file but without torches, will place some placeholder meshes there :)

Pavel KotovStaffHi, nice tutorial!
I prefer using direct Shader animation but this method is also valid and interesting
It may also help to implement changes to the material in real time in browser, without need to always reexport.https://v3d.net/nf1
Pavel KotovStaffWow, this is very nice insight and valuable info. Thank you!

Pavel KotovStaff@simo3dw thank you so much!

There is a fresh tutorial about particles/smoke and it will have at least two more parts to it, so it makes this tutorial kinda part Zero!- This reply was modified 1 year ago by Pavel Kotov.

Pavel KotovStaffThat looks great, good job! I’d recommend putting something thematical on the preloader as it takes quite some time to load, maybe some Egyptian facts or hyeroglyphs’ meaning, so the users will be entertained while the scene loads.
