So after doing some extensive testing on PC and MAC on Maya 2019 and 2020:

The only version of Maya that has Verge3D settings on an AiStandard Shader is maya 2020 on Mac and refraction does not work.
The test file you sent is immutable and renders black if i save over it and export gltf on ALL versions.

I would love to use this software on a real project but this is essentially the only stumbling block.

Could you write a patch to get refraction to work?

That would be great, i’m trying to do a project and it needs water.
Right now it looks like a bug.
I think it’s because you created that file in maya 2019 on PC.
On Mac there is no Verge 3d settings in AiStandard Shader available.

Looks to me like refraction is not possible on MAc

Here is your scene after I added a sphere, applied the water shader, it rendered black and I deleted the sphere.
    Basically exact same scene.

Here is a video link to me using your scene and ending up with black opaque objects.

Here is a video recording of your scene not being updatable or reproducible, if I place any objects in the scene they turn opaque black, if I export your shader they turn objects invisible in the verge scene.

Here is your plane imported into my scene with your shader applied with the puzzle applied. Maya 2020 on Catalina

    Thank-you, much appreciated.
Your scene file however does not show a verge section in the AiStandard shader, there is no “Opaque” or “Blend” setting in your scene on the shader. The manual says use “Blend” and you are saying use “opaque”.
I cannot reproduce what you did in my scene.
I’ve attached your shader settings as an image.
I imported your shader added it to a poly sphere and it’s completely opaque

I used a play animation puzzle and merely selected the objects to animate.
This leaves the question of how to animate object animation and texture animation on the same object separately?

    Thank-you!
I’m now looking for how to animate the UV’s of the texture node in Maya and have it play in Verge3d to make water ripple as an animated normal map.

    I’ve attached an image below.
I’m sure i saw a new feature in verge3D to do this, but I can’t seem to find it.

    Thanks in advance.

This is solved, Maya icon is just to initially launch the maya file, not swap between Manager and maya.
