I am fighting hard to make a good looking HDR env light + sun light with a shadow.

I realized I have a light source that I cannot control. Why is my scene bright even I have no lights?

    See this video please:

    Env hdr light is disabled
sun light is set to 0.

    Why is my scene bright?

    Hi there,

Mix RGB Node is applying a white light. You can control its output by adjusting the white color in the mix node.

The LightPath is Camera Ray node removes the white light from the background but leaves it on the object.

    Thank you.
But where is this Mix RGB Node?
See the attached image, I have only this in my “world”.

    ok thanks!

This is a bit like a secret science :P

“Mix RGB Node is applying a white light. You can control its output by adjusting the white color in the mix node.”

I found it! It was the “color 1” of the “Mix” node but I had to dispatch HDR image node from it to be able to change it to black.

    Wow!

You even can disconnect it from Background node and change color of the node directly.
