On the Moonwards website
I am quite happy with how this turned out. I have only minimal knowledge of Javascript but was able to get used to the Puzzle coding method without much trouble. What i’ve done so far doesn’t use any of its more complex capabilities, i hope i can make use of them in future with more practice.
I need to do many more apps like this one for different areas and structures of our virtual lunar colony. For this kind of thing, it would be helpful if it was easier to control the camera in this kind of setting. It should be easy to move it both quickly and slowly. The functionality of being able to orbit an object that has been double clicked would be nice, something that is possible in Sketchfab.
I intend to move all the models we currently host with Sketchfab over to this software and serve them from the Verge3d network. I think working with Puzzles will help me get a feel for how JavaScript works before trying to code some things myself – but i’ll always prefer to use an interface like Verge3d if i can.
