Hi, thanks for the new release with some great new functions.
Unfortunately, i have some issues with new V3D version for Max:
It takes way longer to create the Sneak Peek than in the previous version. Seems to be that the sneak peek uses also the final gltf-file export function (export/loading bar!).
During the gltf-export, some extra tmp…..png-files are created and they stay in the application-folder. This will blow up the final file.
I hope this can be fixed and will work like in the previous version.Regards Jochen

Increasing of loading time it’s nut a bug, but it happened beause we supported smoothing groups and edited vertex that took more time to calculate normals for each mesh, without that your models will look incorrect if you will use one of them.

Yes, it’s not a just tmp file, it’s a procedural nodes (like gradient or checker) that converted to simple image so you can use them in the engine, without them you wouldn’t see the same result in the engine and 3ds max. So you can optimize it’s size after export.
I hope this can be fixed and will work like in the previous version.
In the future maybe we add some settings so you can choose the size and type of the texture that will be created from procedural nodes or made some of the nodes dynamicaly rendered.

ok i understand. Maybe it also would be nice to have also the option (or a menue!?) to switch off the calculation of the smoothing groups/normals. So that you have a faster sneak peek and a smaller final folder if you don’t want to use vertex-paint or the smoothing group support. Just an idea…2018-03-15 at 10:39 am #2926Mikhail LuzyaninStaffHi Mikhail,

If you export model without smoothing groups you will always get the flat shaded models, but we’ll think about the solution of this problem.
