    Hi,
In the reference manual, I understand the “texture from text” puzzle, but is there a way to:
    1) set the color of the text
    or even better
    2) use another texture as the fill for that text (maybe even with bump).
Im guessing yes, but can’t figure out how.
    Thanks in advance!

    1) set the color of the text
    or even better

You can connect that texture as mask to a mixcolor node(in blender) or mix node (in Max) and connect and RGB inputs to them to controll color of the text.

    2) use another texture as the fill for that text (maybe even with bump).

You can doo all combination using material nodes with a dummy texture as you need in the material directly in Max|Blender to achieve what you want then just replace that textures using puzzles.

    Hi Mikhail,

didn’t check the Notify box, …so just saw this, thanks!

So, to part1, I got the letter colors working perfectly! Only one thing, my dummy texture has dummy text with a transparent background with the texture alpha to the BSDF alpha input. But, when the texture from text is created (now in color :)), I have a solid background. How can I make the background transparent around the texture from text (ie replace the alpha input)?

Having a lot of fun with this.
    Thanks again.

Just connect the same texture to Alpha input channel of the BSDF. Invert it’s colors if needed.

After some trial and error, think I got it.
Thanks Mikhail, have a nice weekend.
