Hi,
i have a model with a armature aplied. Bake modifiers on export does not respect the subdivision modifier (it’s applied before the armature modifier). Objects without armature will respect the subdivision modifier. Am i missing something ? I like to stay in the lowpoly state, before the project is finished – but i wanna see how it looks like in preview….
Thanks for any hints…
Chris

Baking modifier works like a Apply modifier, so it just apply your modifier stack to the mesh, but leaves only Armature because it need to be procedural.

You mean you want to see an animation in the engine with subdivision modifier applied after it every frame as you see it in Blender or you just want to apply an Armature Modifier to the object and after it apply a Sub-surf Modifier just to see the ‘frosen’ preview of your mesh without animation?

2018-07-09 at 8:28 am #5519loomCustomerI mean, if i have subdivide modifier before the armature (on top of the modifier stack) it wont be baken on the fly by export. If you like i can send you the blend file

Just remove the Bake Mofifier checkbox on export options and it will not be applied. There’s no such an export option for individual modifier for now.

2018-07-09 at 9:17 am #5523loomCustomerSorry, i think you are missunderstanding me, i like to have the subdivision modifier not frozen in blender – but applied on the fly while export. The problem is, it wont be baken (visible in blender – but not in the app).

I’m still can’t quite understand you. You want also apply a Armuter modifier before the Subdivision Modifier?

All works. Look at the example. Just do a sneak peak.

You can attach it directly here. You can attach only a part of it, not a whole if you worry about the privacy of your file.

Thanks for the example, we found a bug. We will fix it but now you need to remove Auto Smooth checkbox in the Mesh’s Properties, instead of it use simple Shade Smooth button from the right pannel of the viewport.

2018-07-09 at 1:59 pm #5541loomCustomerThanks for have a look at my scene. Im out of office now. Does it mean it only happens, when autosmooth is enabled – right ?

Yes, it’s only happens when it’s enabled, but it’s enabled on every object of your sceen. We do not expect such behavier of Autosmooth because doesn’t supported it yet, but it’s has some influence on the model anyway.
