I have been tasked with trying to realise the smoke of a trawler boat in my verge3d project. I would like to get some help with how to achieve this.
I can see two main options. A sprite/billboard of one smoke plume, or a basic particle system of image planes with many plumes of smoke. I see there are some methods of shading such things. I think this second way would be most realistic.
I think the single sprite option might be weird, because I want the boat to look like it is moving forwards (so the smoke not to just be going vertically).
Or, some kind of image sequence where the image displayed depends on the rotation of the camera?
Maybe it sounds difficult, but I am sure verge will be capable!
