I have about 40 models of an item that shares 70 materials. I have just started created the blend files and wanted to find out if there was a way to save on all of those materials having to be in every models folder?
Also this is a simple configurator with a black background is there a way to save on recources with 40 models coming and going into a scene? Is that load/upload?

    Thanks

One way you might want to approach this is that is with a Parent scene and all the models are being appended as children.

Your parent scene will contain all your materials. You will want to probably assign them to stand in planes or triangles out of view. Then as you load in a model. You will then have to assign the materials to the objects as needed.

Depending on the size and overall peformance of your project and your materials this may or may not be any great savings for performance but it could be significant as well.

Thanks. When you say parent scene and child scene do you have an example of any of this?

Within the App Manager is the Asset Store. Within that find the LoadUnload Scene.
