Regretfully, we will not be attending Blender conference this year.
Our talk proposal was rejected by Ton Roosendaal as related to a commercial project. Not sure what changed because we gave Verge3D presentations 2 years in the row and it was fine before.
He suggested to purchase a sponsorship package in order to be accepted, which our young company cannot afford at the moment.
I hope this was not caused by Epic Games’ grant that Blender Foundation received recently.
May be we’ll make it in the next year.

WebGL is well on its way and will become extremely important for Blender artists. You have developed a fantastic artist-friendly solution for Blender users.
They should not miss out on this!2019-08-22 at 7:04 am #18058Yuri KovelenovStaff2019-08-27 at 7:43 am #18159jbetbeCustomerHi Yuri, don’t worry. Ton could have a reason for that I don’t think there’s a reason by unreal, why? You’re products are huge different, and Unreal (a part of it) want to invest in the best open-source app, focused in its core.
Maybe next year. Because of the 2.80’s release there’re a lot of (new)artists o developers want to show their work in the conference. You have bad luck in this case and probably he preferred to let others and new to attend.
Otherwise, you’re doing a great work for the community and help us a lot. Keep on this. There will be more opportunities, for sure.2019-08-27 at 7:51 am #18161Yuri KovelenovStaff2019-09-17 at 11:13 pm #18941Avier3DCustomerIt’s ok Yuri, I think Ton has to very often take drastic turns in Blender’s boat, V3D is not the first nor the last, there’s plenty of blender devs coming up and all rallying for some space.
Keep the social media rolling and showcase user’s work and I’m sure plenty more people will join.

But I also think it is temporary decision of Ton, it cannot be rejected in the future, this tool is pioneering for WebGL and I wouldn’t be pessimistic at all :)
