    Good day everybody.

I am relatively new to using verge3d. Currently I am working on a large project, but I have run into an issue where a part of my normal map has disappeared.

From within Maya nothing seems to be amis. All normals are perfectly aligned on my object by AiStandardSurface. But when I preview my project in Verge, and also in the working window in the Puzzles menu, I see that the front of my object displays no normal map. Can anybody help out? (See pictures below, the last one is an older screenshot where the grooves are still visible).

    Thanks in advance!

What extension your normal maps have? Not all supported try to convert all maps to png.

It is already a .png file. And, as mentioned before, it was working mere hours prior. I think it has to do with how the model is loaded into the program. Maybe it has to do with ” assign material” puzzles?

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I am checking in on my other models. They have largely remained unchanged, but they all have some “dead-spots” in their normal maps. They appear to be mostly around some of the edges, or on a face close to an edge. Does this make any sense?

I am eager to hear what a problem could be.

Seems like. Can you share the normal map with the issue?

Certainly! This is the used normalmap. The texture is tiled within Maya by setting repeat UV’s to 5. Hopefully you can discover something.

(I cannot seem to upload the file, very strange.)

Works with no problem in Blender -> Verge3D

Puzzles and JS coding. Fast and expensive.

If you don’t see the meaning in something it primarily means that you just don’t see it but not the absence of the meaning at all.

Seems works fine for me. Check this video may be you forgot something in material settings.

I also was able to apply the material to a cube and it worked out like you showed. I am beginning to suspect that it has to do with the UV’s, although they are working properly in Maya. Or maybe the model is being read wrong in Verge? Thanks for all the support anyways.

Ok, may be the problem is a mesh, can you share the object itself with assigned material and the map.

    Thanks for the assistance,

I have figured out what the problem was, the model was faulty. I remade it and now the texture is loaded properly.

    Kind regards
