This week was kinda surprising – all three Verge3D-enabled modelling suites got major updates each: Blender 3.5, 3ds Max 2024, and Maya 2024!
Here are the features what might be of interest to Verge3D users:
- Support for USDZ import/export in Blender. This will be helpful for designing fallback scenes for AR preview on iOS devices.
- Improved Blender/Maya performance on macOS with M1/M2 chips. BTW, Verge3D have supported this hardware for quite a time.
- Standard Surface material is now default in Maya 2024. In addition, Viewport 2.0 got some tweaks. As a result, Maya scenes will look more like Verge3D rendering.
Blender 3.5 is already compatible with the stable Verge3D 4.3. Support for the new versions of 3ds Max and Maya is coming with Verge3D 4.4 preview in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
