It looks like morph targets (or blend shapes) aren’t supported in AR for iOS but shouldn’t the updated model (after changing morph targets) be exported to USDZ so that the new model shape, etc is reflected in AR?

I’ve done several tests and the model in AR always shows the original shape and size even though I changed the morph targets before exporting to USDZ.

Is there a way to get the updated scene into AR for iOS?

What 3d app, and version are you using and what version of V3d are you using?

    I’m using 3DS Max 2022 and Verge3D 4.0.0 pre5.

You may want to upgrade to 4.0.1 production release….might help…might not but its available.

I an digging into this a bit and there seems to be a lot of reported issues with USDZ and blendshape/shapekeys/morph_targets are being stored in the file but they are not accessible through Apples AR QuickLook. Going to keep digging.

OK..some weirdness. I primarily use blender Blender 3.0.1 would not create the shapekeys in such a way that they would animate or be accessible to get to an in between shape with a USDZ. However, Blender 3.1.2 does..the shapekeys come over without an issue. It will be few weeks before I can migrate to B3D 3.2 and V3D 4.0.1 so if anyone could test it out that would be great.

Simple USDZ attached. Will work in XCode. Quick Look does not support this as far as I can tell.

Yeah. I could create a solution through code for this so that morphed objects come through to be correctly shown in AR for iOS (Quick Look like you mentioned). I have a project that I’m working on that I want to get done first though.

I was hoping there’d be an easy solution. :/

Shape keys are now supported in Verge3D )))

    AR plugin for iOS

Puzzles and JS coding. Fast and expensive.

If you don’t see the meaning in something it primarily means that you just don’t see it but not the absence of the meaning at all.

That’s awesome that you made a solution to start!

I plan on creating a solution to be able to use unlimited morph targets/blend shapes in the near future because most of my projects need several on each scene.
