Hi,
i am realy in the process of learnin Verge with Blender as a base. One of my clients is in the medical tutorial industry and he is really interested in what can be done. Since the animations needed are sometimes rather complex i am in the process of evaluating what can be done with verge.
Currently I am looking in what can be done with animations on a vertex level. So far with no sucsess. I verge in general not able to do animations on vertex level, or is there a special way how to do it?
If there is no way right now, are there plans for the future?

We have a plans to increase possibilities of the engine but we do not want to create our own implementation of vertex animation (like it was in b4w). What kind of vertex animation do you need? What you want to achieve, have you any examples, so we can discus it? May be using mesh cash modifier with mdd base format or something like that?

Here I created an example of how to use MDD format to bake all animation to meshcash and then import as shapekeys with animation and then export it to Verge3D. May be most of the things can be done using this solution. Can you share with us what do you want to bring to your app may be we can offer you a solution.Co-founder and lead graphics specialist at Soft8Soft.
2018-06-29 at 12:10 pm #5335BildermenschParticipantHello,
currently i have a animation (as stated in another thread) based on a wave modifiyer and a mesh deform. I can transfer that to animated shape keys, so there is a feasable way. Thank you for your offer and i will for certain come back here if i have problems. The issue with the vertex animation was my last major problem so far. Like i said, i made my client quite enthusiastic about the possibilities of web 3d, but now i have to deliver at least a small sample.
Best regards
