Hi there, I’m about to purchase a license for Verge3D but struggling with something. I know a lot about 3D, a tiny bit about WebGL but completely nothing about e-commerce programming. The deal here is I was asked to prepare a 3D configurator for my client but they marked that it has to be integrated with their data base which is based on Magento Enterprise. Is it possible to connect Verge3D output to Magento?
If not is there any option or workaround to somehow migrate Verge3D output to Magento?

This is large furniture manufacturer and Magento compatibility is crucial as whole their system is related on that. Even production pipeline is somehow connected to their ordering system via Magento.

    Thanks in advance for reply!

    All the best,
    Krzysztof.

Hey! Navigating Magento compatibility can be a puzzle. Before diving into a workaround migration, consider your specific needs. Assess if your current version aligns with your goals or if an upgrade is more beneficial. Community forums can be gold for insights and shared experiences.

If the migration seems inevitable, plan meticulously. Back up everything, and explore migration tools for a smoother transition. Test in a sandbox environment to catch glitches early.

Sometimes, the expertise of an IT Outsourcing Company can be a game-changer. Their insights and experience in handling complex migrations could save you headaches. They often bring a fresh perspective and efficient solutions to the table.

Magento now Adobe Commerce is well Adobe. So as ischreu pointed out, and everything he has said is absolutely spot on.

You may also want to consider limiting your scope. Based on your message they have asked you to create a configurator. Depending on the number SKUs and options for each model this can take up a lot of time and resources to create. If you are not a Magento developer I would suggest partnering with your client’s dev team to do the integration. They need to provide you with the data schema, you provide their system a SKU number. Their e-commerce system should be able to process that without any further input from the configurator. This also removes you from the liability of processing transactions, dealing with inventory, etc and an enormous legal headache. Also make sure your contracts have a clause in it that states your liability is only to fixing the code only if there is a bug and not loss of inventory or revenue (again if you a doing this as freelance).

On the other hand, if you are to build an entirely new e-commerce system find yourself some devs that are fantastic with the version of Magento you are going to use.

    Good luck.
