When Enable outline checkbox, the Line Rendering object becomes very low-resolution.
Hope you could fix it as early as possible.2018-08-19 at 11:39 am #6609justkmooParticipantMy mistake. Actually every object in the scene becomes low-resolution when outline checkbox is Enabled, especially on a small display.

Yes, you’re right. Outlining is a post-process effect that requires multi-stage rendering and composition. When outlining is used, the default single-stage rendering is disabled, thus canceling the final MSAA stage enabled by default for the WebGL canvas. That’s why we’re seeing graphics quality degraded.A possible solution to this problem can be leveraging WebGL 2.0 features which is in our plans.

I’m also having a similar problem. When I enable outlining, all of my objects become pixellated and non-viewable, especially the text.I thought it was something I had done wrong, and I’ve spent many hours trying to figure this out.
Here is before and after ‘enabling’ outline. Before, it looks nice and crisp (look at the Footwear letters), but when outline is enabled it looks very rough and hard to read. It’s not useable.
I’m kind of concerned, does this mean I cannot use Verge? The pixellation makes this unusable for publication or our website.
Perhaps I can have a hover effect that just changes the color of the object instead of outlining, or I can make an object (just behind) that lights up when hovered?
Thanks for any suggestions/help.

you can use the following methods to work around this problem:
1. use HTML elements for rendering all text – this is actually a more efficient and SEO-friendly approach than doing this in 3D part
2. Use highlighting with color instead of outlining – for this you can use the newest Puzzles set color and set value which are coming with Verge3D 2.9

Thanks, I’ve done the second thing. The first suggestion won’t work because it affects all the objects on the site, not just the text. It’s working. Another thing though that’s particularly weird, is that when I ‘publish’ the site, it doesn’t update at the html link (like when the pop-up appears giving the site link). It just stays the same from the first ‘publishing’. I’ve fixed this before by deleting all of my verge3d network files, and then re-publishing, but not working this time.
For now I’m hosting on our main site, which is working. Just fyi, here:

Best, T.

I’m glad my suggestions were helpful. Regarding the browser cache, please check out my reply to your other forum topic here.
I agree that we must document this moment clearly in the User Manual. We’ll also try to handle the Verge3D Network cache problem on our side.
Thanks for your feedback!
