    So what I’m trying to do is watch the website in android and even though my project is really simple it still lags a lot while verge’s own jewellery configuration which is complex in comparison to mine still works smoothly

    simple mesh, whole scene is 1500 tris and uses 3 area lights + default hdri that comes with verge 3d, in puzzles it has annotations and 3 material changing buttons, has a roughness map applied to it which is 512px, bottom has a transparent texture 128px

    at first I thought it might be because of the textures but I tried removing both and it still lagged same way

    any idea on how to optimize my project

    You have 3 light sources casting shadows. That’s the main reason…

    while verge’s own jewellery configuration which is complex in comparison to mine still works smoothly

    This demo has no lights. Only HDRi map.

    Puzzles and JS coding. Fast and expensive.

    If you don’t see the meaning in something it primarily means that you just don’t see it but not the absence of the meaning at all.

    Yes, the main reason is lights with shadows.
