Have you a solution for express the glass. I don’t know the solution to make transparency. It isn’t necessary to make distortion like REFRACT, for me it is too much. Just more or less transparency. Option : The ideal will be a distortion with scale. .

Hi, Vincent. Is it necessery to refract what exectly above the glass or you can use a refraction of cubemap? Or you wnt to create a refraction of magnifier like in your example?

2018-03-30 at 1:46 pm #3300vincentCustomerMy point of view. Refract is a a solid glass with mirror effect, and it’s not transparency. I can use a cube map, but it’s more true if it’s transparency with distortion “x 2” of object’s of behind. Yes like my picture !

Unfortunately it’s not in our plan for now to make a real-time refraction. What you try to implement may be it can be made using another techniques?

Is it so critique to have a refraction on wathch glass for you? It will cause a weak effect of refraction on such small distance from the mesh.

2018-04-03 at 7:00 am #3344vincentCustomerI would a material for glass effect, and it’s sure it’s not refraction ( case study : rabbit on the grass). Distortion or opacity… I don’t know the best way but not refraction,I send you a panel of images who express my goals.

It’s not a cubemap exactly but a matcap. Just put a mirror ball somewhere in a scene then put a camera in front of it and render an image in ascpect ratio 1:1. Than conncet it as I made it in fold material, directly from normal output from geometry to Vector input in Texture node.
