What a great software Verge 3d is !
Trying to do some fake caustics animating a shader. How can I import the shader anim into Verge? Could I map it onto the emission of a spotlight?

    Blender file attached

    Thank you

    Christian

Overall its a nice texture and the texture itself does work in V3D.
Unfortunately, lights in Blender EEVEE do not support nodes.
Volume Scatter is also an issue.

To answer your question you will have to fake this entire effect.
You could map a cone (spotlight volume stand-in), the floor and your version of the monkey and create a similar effect.

Ah thank you, good idea. Any thoughts on making an the animation of the texture work in Verge? I tried this Puzzle but couldn’t make it work…..

Since the “W” input of the Texture Node is not supported you will need to use an alternative method. You could create a sprite sheet. Use the material and animate the W parameter. Might as well render it out in Cycles. You may want to render out just the white allowing you to cast the white of the caustic on any color by rendering the black transparent. Then you could assign your sprite sheet as needed as a texture and animated it either in Blender or in V3D.

@xeon I managed to solve it by setting key/animating the values :)
