Hi,
Are curve Path animations supported? I have looked through the manual and I can’t find a definite answer.
I’ve tried using my path animations in my puzzle but it doesn’t seem to recognize them. However, It does show the curve on the 3D model when I select sneak peak while on the last frame of my animation in Blender.
Thanks in advance!

No it’s not supported. You will need to bake to object animation or to groupf og shapekey animation. Look at this small tutorial.

Unfortunately those options won’t work for me and that really messes up my workflow. Shape keys only make it really difficult to make it “grow” from point A to point B.
I’m trying to a map and have paths to specific rooms animate from the entrance when someone clicks on the rooms. All of these were made using curves.
I was able to make them into meshes and animate those using shape keys so they looked right in Blender (I did still needed to deform them with a curve modifier). However, the animations still won’t work with this method.
I know it’s not the code, because tested it without the curve modifier and it plays fine (just the wrong shape).
I’m not sure what to try now. Without a way to make these paths animate this way, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make this work.
Any help would be really appreciated!

The object (both the curve version and the mesh version) show up in Verge 3D ok. However, the animation does not. It won’t play the animation from the shape keys when the curve modifier is applied.

2022-07-22 at 7:18 pm #54323CrunchCustomerAlex – little help please. I have everything updated to current version (verge 4.1, Blender 3.2.1) cannot get the follow curve animation working.. Please help, been waiting forever for this feature. thx!

the constraint has limitations:
1. Please make sure you have set animation keyframes directly on curve’s Evaluation Time parameter, Animate Path button in constraint settings is not supported.2. In constraint settings Offset value does not supported, but Offset Factor should work.
3. Bezier curves are not supported, but will be in next pre-release.
4. You have to use only “Z-Up” Twist method in curve settings

2022-07-24 at 4:12 am #54352CrunchCustomerThank you so much! I got it working with a nurbs curve.
I also experimented a bit by adding a few empties and hook modifiers that animated the curve/path my object was following… didn’t expect that to work in verge but it did.. I enabled highlight on the curve and though the curve remained static, the motion of the object traveling the path moved like it did in Blender.
Thx again and looking forward to also being able to use Bezier curves!
