    Hi All,

I’m trying to clone an armature/mesh but I can’t get it move anywhere once I have done this, I can see it creates a duplicate but nothing can be done with it, I have tried cloning the armature and mesh individually as well as together

Or is there a way to move a mesh independently to its parented armature?

Excuse my ignorance if this is something very obvious

Any help would be much appreciated

This puzzle can properly clone armatured meshes and those meshes can be moved freely.

Puzzles and JS coding. Fast and expensive.

I see its part of a bundle, any chance I could buy just that puzzle from you? I don’t really need the others and can’t afford the whole bundle at the moment

free hint: clone an armature (its skinned mesh will be cloned as well). move the armature, not the skinned mesh which by default is attached to its armature and cannot be moved. the only problem is that the cloned skinned mesh will have the same name as its original and you’ll have to rename it.

Thank you, I did notice that it creates a duplicated skinned mesh with the same name.

When I move the duplicated armature should it also move the mesh connected to it or will it not because it has the same name?

    Yes.

The problem will appear if you try to use dragging. In this case names of cloned meshes will matter.

Interesting, this doesn’t seem to work for me. When I duplicate and move the armature with a set position puzzle I can see in console that it moves but the mesh stays put

Try to parent the mesh to its armature before cloning (in Blender or via puzzles).
