I’ve been messing with this as long as I’ve been using Verge. Why does the Blender preview not match the Verge 3d simulation? I’ve tried everything and nothing I do makes the two look the same. It’s very frustrating. Any input would be very appreciated.

First, show screenshots to see what you are talking about.

On my side I see no difference

Puzzles and JS coding. Fast and expensive.

If you don’t see the meaning in something it primarily means that you just don’t see it but not the absence of the meaning at all.

Thanks for your reply. Attached are screen dumps. The brighter one is on blender. The other one is on verge.

Most likely you are using different lightings. Show the world material shader in Blender. Also show these options in your Blender

Or just attach your .blend file here. It will be the fastest way.

Nope, same items selected. But my version has three additonal options, disabled, camera and always. “disabled” is selected.

Use .hdr instead of .exr. But if you’re insisting on using .exr then change Color Space to Non-Color.

Found studio.exr in Blender’s folder. See no difference with Non-Color. With Linear Verge3D renders brighter than Blender.

So, share your file to find out what’s wrong with it…

    same items selected.

Are you sure? I see that your are using one of the built-in maps in Blender.

Here’s the link to download the .blend file.

I fixed it using a downloaded hdr file. Thanks for sending me in the right direction. Here you think you are doing the right thing using a file in blender. Again, thanks for your help. Been dealing with this forever.

As expected, you’re using one of the built-in EXR maps. They work in Blender only.

You should use the world material shader in Blender to see what you get in Verge3D. Lighting MUST be the same both in Blender and in Verge3D.
