If you don’t have this feature active in Blender, go to preferences, from add-ons, select “import images on planes”

    Once activated, File>Import>Images as Planes

This is a super easy way to get an image into a blender scene. Problem, it doesn’t seem to work in Verge3d.

Am I doing something wrong or missing some setting?

Bonus Question: Is there any easy way (or a tutorial) for projecting a youtube videos or a webpage (as in the htmlmixer project shipped with Verge3d) onto a plane?

Strange thing, I used that add-on to import some images and they are properly displayed with Verge3D Sneak Peek. I’m using Blender 2.8 + latest Verge3D.

At the moment this is only possible with JavaScript. You can modify the URL for the iframe element in the htmlmixer example to assign videos or webpages.

Just a guess: maybe you are importing the image as a “Background” or “Reference”. If so, then “yes”, it won’t work in Verge3D. Btw it will also not render (F12) just because “Background”/”Reference” are Empties, not meshes.

I am sorry, I guess it does work. I had previously been using a much older version of Verge3d and just upgraded to 2.11.1. From what i recall and couldn’t get it work but really should have tried it again after the upgrades before coming here asking. sorry!

Thanks Yuri for your suggestion of modifying the url on the html mixer app. I will play around/experiment with that.
