People,
I am just starting with Blender and Verge3D but while I have an actual project that I need Blender and Verge3D for, to begin with I just want to get famiiiar with all the software so I have this idea of creating a Blender “Help Totem Pole”. So far I have this:
https://cdn.soft8soft.com/AROAJSY2GOEHMOFUVPIOE:2656229362/applications/HelpTotem/HelpTotem.html
Where I will put text notes on the faces of the cubes.
Now in the browser I want to:
– Have the cubes only lit from a lamp on the x axis
– Select each cube independently for rotation around the z axis by clicking the cube directly or using the up and down cursor keys from a previously selected cube.
– Use the Left and Right cursor keys to rotate the selected cube around the z axis.
Could someone tell me how to do this or just provide a working demo for me which I can build upon?
Thanks!
Phil.

You need to use Sun lightsource that you can direct how you need it.
Select each cube independently for rotation around the z axis by clicking the cube directly or using the up and down cursor keys from a previously selected cube.
– Use the Left and Right cursor keys to rotate the selected cube around the z axis.
You can study Industrial robot example it has all features you need.

Ah, OK, thanks.

Oh, OK – I will have a look at that.
Thanks!

I had a look and yes, it appears all the information for what I want to do is there but I think that is too much for me to break down ATM – rotating a single cube example is what I need I think . .
Thanks,

Thanks for the example – it was interesting but I need something else (I attach my 3 cube blend):
– NO arrows on screen
– Select each cube independently via a mouse click as normal
– Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to ROTATE ONLY the selected cube around the Z Axis ONLY – INSTEAD of moving the drawing left or right.
– Use the Up or Down Arrow keys Select to select the cube directly ABOVE or BELOW from the currently selected cube – INSTEAD of moving the drawing up or down.
Does this make sense? Is it possible?
Thanks,
Phil.Attachments:

2020-01-15 at 8:31 am #22829philiprhoadesCustomerI am on Linux (Fedora 31) but when I look at the output from “Sneak Peak” I cannot select a cube and cannot rotate t with the cursor keys – am I missing something?
Thanks,

please see this page for some tips:

Ah . . thanks for that – working now.
I noticed the slowness of web interactivity before – is it possible to speed up the rotation so that it only needs ONE Left or Right click to more quickly rotate a cube 90 degrees?

2020-01-15 at 12:26 pm #22841Yuri KovelenovStaffHi,
you can use the animate parameter puzzle to animate the object rotation with a single click:
https://www.soft8soft.com/docs/manual/en/puzzles/Animation.html#animate_param2020-01-15 at 1:58 pm #22850Mikhail LuzyaninStaffChanged a little bit the example. Now the arrows rotates cube on 90 degrees.
