Hello there,
Here is my very first real project using Verge3D.The final web page will give the possibility to change several colors / shaders.
It is meant to replace, time after time, the existing web site using PNG layers in DIVs, you can see it here : https://configurateur.billard-toulet.com/
The 3D in the existing website was also made by meI’ll probably ask some help in the future to get things right, nice and cleverly done.
First of all, i wish i could use nVidia’s raytracing to get rid of the white contour around the balls…
Or a progressive rendering like in 3dsmax in high quality viewport.PS : i’m not responsible for the table design, it is (c) Toulet and may not be used elsewhere.

Only “Cadre” (aka frame) is active for now.
I think i’ll have to create my own HDRi as some colors are a bit too lit.I’m trying not ti use actual light, as it will slow down the rendering.
Also i would need at least 4 of them to get nice shadows. Also, i often have to wait to see changes in the published version, in local it is direct, when published, i think the Soft8Soft system is refreching after some minutes, right ?

For metallic colors, i change both color and reflexion color (same color with -0.2 on each RGB)
I can’t find this color to be changed in the puzzles… any idea ?

2020-04-14 at 12:35 pm #25797Yuri KovelenovStafftry connecting it to a controller first
https://www.soft8soft.com/docs/manual/en/max/Materials-Maps-Reference.html#Controllers2020-04-14 at 12:43 pm #25800NaxosCGCustomerOh, i’ve found it ! Thank to the help file.
To whom it could help : just connect a controler “color rgba” to the reflection color, re-export as gltf, and the reflection color will appear in the list.Sorry for asking before.

2020-04-14 at 12:47 pm #25801Yuri KovelenovStaff2020-04-14 at 1:19 pm #25810NaxosCGCustomerok, i’ve found a real one that needs help (not found in help)
Please see the screenshot.
As you can see i’m using a same “tapis” material in 2 different final materials, using different baked AO.
So, for now, i have to change 2 colors because i don’t find the “tapis” material in the list.
Then i’ve assigned the “simple” “tapis” material to off-field box so i can see it in puzzles. But it does not work.
I guess during gltf export the link between material and blended material containing it is broken, right ?Any suggestion ?

see screenshot :
The same AO full black was used for AO blend material.
Nice with a light color, but strangely light with a dark color, under a certain view angle.
I guess it is from ior reflection or so, but how to make this AO shader to be black with no light reflection ?"1+1=3... for large values of 1"
2020-04-14 at 2:56 pm #25827NaxosCGCustomerHere my wip : https://cdn.soft8soft.com/AROAJSY2GOEHMOFUVPIOE:4f921f28ff/applications/toulet_whitelight/test-whitelight-responsive.html
I did put the color in the 2 objects, as the last tip you gave me did not work.
Main look problem now is what i’ve explained with AO black shader becoming lit with low angle camera view.
Enough for today, i have a lot to do tomorrow…

2020-04-15 at 6:40 am #25840Mikhail LuzyaninStaffYou need to switch to advanced mode of the material that imitates AO and set Reflections to 0.

Many thanks, Mikhail ! Now it is ok.
As i’m using Corona Render for 4 years now (and vRay for 13 years before that), i don’t really know the physical material. This afternoon i’ll have a new challenge : render an HDRi in the 5 ambiances to get nice reflections / lights, and fix some cameras…
