Hello guys,
Bug ? not bug ? I d’ont really know, but since last release, after exporting a medium large scene as gltf, 3dsmax takes +46s to become usable again : during 46 loooong seconds, the interface is not responding (nor camera move, nor menu, nor shortcut (Ctrl+O forex) works)
Any idea ?
Versions are :
3dsmax 2023.2.2
Verge3D 4.2.0
Windows 10"1+1=3... for large values of 1"

The long wait occurs after the export is done (and fully done as i can use it in verge3d app manager as soon as the progress bar is off.Attachments:

2023-03-16 at 8:47 am #61102NaxosCGCustomerJust in case it helps :
I’m using only USD shaders (for iOS AR), and i guess the short wait before progress bar start is due to png (occlusion-roughness-metallic) creation.
Maybe also that the long wait after progress bar has something to do with that ?Attached a screencast in realtime (not edited), please see how long it is to get back control of 3dsmax (only max, windows is usable during this time)
Regards.

2023-03-17 at 8:44 am #61130Alexander KovelenovStaffThanks Claudio!
Unfortunately we can’t reproduce it on our own systems. We installed the same version of 3ds Max (with updates) and USD Preview Surface extension. There some minor delay at the start due to converting PBR textures, but it’s not so serious.
The only difference is that we don’t have the Mental Ray and Corona renders which your scene appears to be using. Could you please disable these for a moment and convert your materials to be Arnold-compatible?

2023-03-19 at 5:32 pm #61152NaxosCGCustomerHello Alexander,
I’m using Corona Render for main 3D purpose, not mentalray (probably some old stuff in the scene from the time 3dsmax was mental-ray by default.
The scene for this project is 100% USD / Physical, no mentalray, nor Corona. To disable, i would have to remove Corona from my PC, and to merge file into a fresh new one, without any mentalray ghosts (hopefully).
I’ll try to find the time to do so, but not sure…
Maybe i can disable another way ?"1+1=3... for large values of 1"

I’ve found in some other max files a strange thing : 16016 animation layers !!
I guess it could explain this behaviour… Sini software’s Forensic helped here."1+1=3... for large values of 1"
