I recently upgraded my project to verge 3d 4.8 , I noticed that when I check Performance Profile , the Textures & Render Buffers number went very high ,1000+ ( Before that Im using verge 4.2, it was 57 Textures & Render Buffers).

Most of the extra ones are Node.parametric – Texture – 256×1 – RGBA , that represents the noise texture and gradient texture nodes I use in my materials right?

Whats the calculation behind it ? ( One Node.parametric – Texture – 256×1 – RGBA Means One gradient texture node? )

Why it doesnt show for the previous version of verge 3d?

Do I need to worry about it , and try to not use that much of noise texture and gradient texture nodes ?

    Hi jerenz,

Right, Verge3D generates that many individual procedure textures from your scene. Before v.4.8 those were just not visible in the output of the performance profiler.

This is not really good but not critical for performance or memory consumption. We’ll think about possible solutions to cleanup/cache such textures inside the engine.
