    Hi guys,

I discovered another interesting problem when converting a machine that I built and rigged over to verge 3D. I have a mesh that I have attached to a curve that I use to animate this chain around a belt drive for a conveyor belt package sorter.

I tried several ways to get this to over to verge but keep getting animation errors when exporting. I really need to get this to work because the conveyor belt on the machine is rigged in a similar manner. Could you please take a look and offer some suggestions/fixes ? Thanks in advance!

You need to set all chain to bones and animate them then. You also will be need to bake animation to keyframes. Only simple object animation and bones animation supported. No animation with modifiers or drivers will work in the engine.

    Thanks for the info Mikhail,
Ok, so I went to the trouble of recreating the animation with bones instead of modifiers. I then baked the key frames of the bones. Upon exporting the verge file, it works but takes forever to export and I’m sure the gltf file is not optimized at this point.

Can you please take a look at my file and let me know if there is a better way to do this or export it ?

PS- I’m attaching one file with the original armature and another version after I baked frames.

Yes, this absolutely the right way to do this. Unfraternally, there’s no way to optimize it.
