Hi, cannot see the verge 3d menu in 3ds max 2020

    #18135

Go to Utilities => MaxScript => choose Verge3D from drop down menu => click on Register Verge3D Menu

Mikhail’s suggestion doesn’t work either. Under Utilities there is nothing about Verge3d

    Hi,

If you are using non-English version of 3ds Max, please setup the plugin path first as described here:

    Hi Yuri,

Yes, that’s what I did and it’s now in my 3DS Max 2020. Thanks.

BTW, I have a scene file with around 10 separate objects I wish to create a WebGL file for. Can’t I just select each object individually and export them one by one ?

Even though the other nine objects are hidden, Verge3D creates one WebGL file for ALL 10 objects (and then 3DS Max crashes).

My objects are different door designs for my client and he wants of course one WebGL for each door. Plus we’re looking at Verge3D as it could well be a cheaper solution than what SketchFab offers (@ €99 a month !).

Verge3D could be the solution for us if I can get this to work for us (though looks like a bit of a steep learning curve).

    Many thanks.

    Hi Jez,

Our approach is to have one Max file per exported scene. In your case I recommend to create a separate Max file for each object to which you can link the corresponding model from your big scene file.

    Hi Yuri.

Thanks – I can do it the way you suggest, no problem.

Verge3D looks very, very promising – please can you tell me what are the restrictions on the demo version of Verge3D ? For example, how long can I trial it for ?

I ask because I will need time to play with it, as it is my client that will be paying for it :)

Also, to save me a bit of time, please can you tell me – are there ANY Credits within the WebGL file that might refer to Verge3D ? The reason I ask is that some of your competitors (M******t) have their name on several buttons within the web viewer which my client does not want to be visible to his website visitors (nor will choose to go for) !

Many thanks for all your help.

Please read about the trial here

Benefits and limitations of Verge3D Trial

Once you have a license, the engine won’t print anything on the screen or add any logos etc to the UI. It is a completely customizable, self-hosted solution!

    Thanks Yuri.

This all looks VERY promising :)

My final question to you (sorry !) is – can you point me to something as an example please.

For my requirements, my client produces simple doors – and I have animated them also. Can Verge3D handle animations ? (simple door animations of the doors opening, the lock rotating 90 degrees etc and then the door closing – this looping over and over).

Any example that you think I could see (of course it most probably will not be a door ! But something other than, say, a furry animal or a gun exploding !).

    A gallery ?

    Many thanks.

We got a furniture-related tutorial, with animation covered in Part 6:

    Thanks Yuri,

My apologies, I’ve seen your “Made with Verge3D” section and am VERY impressed.

Finally, please note that when I went onto this page, https://www.soft8soft.com/3ds-max-to-webgl-guide/

There are many missing images. You might want to clean that up :)

    Many thanks.

Oops. Thanks for pointing this out! We’ll handle it. :)
